Cutting boards and food containers are commonly made of HDPE, or high-density polyethylene. For restaurants, chefs, and anyone who cooks frequently, HDPE is a preferable material for cutting boards for a variety of reasons.
HDPE-based plastic cutting boards are easier to sanitise than hardwood cutting boards. Dishwasher-safe, lightweight, and quick-to-rinse HDPE cutting boards are simple to maintain.
They may be cleaned with a basic bleach and water sanitising solution or by just putting them in the dishwasher for a quick rinse.
Dishwasher cycles, on the other hand, would quickly ruin wooden cutting boards, necessitating extensive scouring.
